Engineering the connections
A product brings together a lot of people's work. The architecture, infrastructure, delivery process, and operating environment all have to support one another for it to work well. I enjoy understanding those connections and helping a team build around them.
That's how I approach systems architecture, platform engineering, DevSecOps, and AI infrastructure. The decisions carry across all four: how a service is deployed affects its availability; how access is governed affects what it can do; and how changes reach it affects whether people can depend on it as demand grows.
Systems architecture
I like starting with a conversation about how things work today and what needs to change. Customers and engineering teams often know exactly where a process becomes difficult, even when the requirement hasn't been written down yet. Listening to that experience helps me understand what the system really needs to deliver.
From there, I work through the interfaces, dependencies, and ownership that will hold it together. My experience includes integrating products developed by independent teams and adapting deployments to different customer requirements. I look for an approach that gives each team a clear place in the larger system and a practical path to implementation.
Platform engineering
That architecture needs somewhere dependable to run, along with a way for people to maintain it. This is where I bring together infrastructure, automation, and deployment practices so teams have a foundation they can keep building on.
My experience includes OpenTofu and Kubernetes-based integration with Helm, Argo CD, and GitOps. I also work through the design of provisioning, permissions, reusable modules, and controlled platform changes. Along the way, I pay attention to the people who will operate it: what they need to understand, where support will come from, and how the platform can grow without becoming harder to work with.
DevSecOps
As a platform evolves, the way changes move through it matters just as much. I work on the connections between builds, artifacts, releases, and the evidence needed to trust what is being delivered.
In my software supply-chain work, that includes fitting OCI artifact practices, signing, attestations, caching, and structured releases around existing development tools. I also consider the feedback a team receives when something doesn't meet an integration requirement. A useful delivery process should help people understand what happened and how to move forward, while preserving the integrity and governance the system needs.
AI infrastructure
AI brings those same foundations into focus as more people depend on agents and models throughout their work. My interest is in the infrastructure that makes that use sustainable: deploying the supporting platform, planning for growing demand, and keeping the service safe and reliable for the people using it.
That means planning capacity and availability alongside the access each workload needs. Permissions determine who can use a model and what an agent is allowed to do; network and tooling boundaries determine what it can reach. I work through how the supporting infrastructure will enforce those decisions and keep them effective as use grows.
My architecture work connects those access and resource boundaries with the wider enterprise environment. The aim is a platform where AI can scale with end-user demand, where teams understand how it is operating, and where the permitted scope of an agent's activity is built into how the system runs.
Keeping the whole experience in view
Across these areas, I keep coming back to the people who depend on the result. A deployment can be available and still leave someone unable to do their work because the network path, permissions, or supporting services aren't right.
I work through those dependencies with the teams responsible for them. Understanding the existing process, using established standards where they fit, and making failures easier to diagnose all help turn a design into something people can use with confidence.
